One of the great mysteries in literature is being solved today. Why did JD Salinger stop writing after his generation-defining novel, "Catcher in the Rye?" The answer is he didn't. The Guardian newspaper reports his son and the author's widow are going as fast as they can to get some of the work his father did ready for publication. JD Salinger died in 2010. Matt Salinger said his father never stopped writing and that they plan to share everything he wrote at some point.
