The death toll from a Friday dam burst at mining operating is climbing to 34. Officials estimate somewhere between 250 to 300 people are still missing as searchers look through deep mud for more bodies. There were intermittent rains on Saturday complicating the search. The mine was granted an expedited license to expand in December because it was considered a decreased risk. The dam that burst was made of earth and held back waste material from the mines. Nearly two dozen people are being treated for injuries. Many of the missing were miners who were eating lunch in the mine's offices.
