A man was found shot to death inside the doorway of his home on Boone Street in Uvalde Wednesday night, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police said in a late night statement that they were called to the home by a woman who said a man had broken into the house and her boyfriend had been shot.
When they arrived they found the victim bleeding from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to Uvalde Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say witnesses told them they saw a man dressed all in black running away from the home, his face covered by a bandana.
Police say a 'person of interest' is being interviewed by detectives and Texas Rangers, but he is not considered a suspect at this time. Texas Rangers are also collecting evidence in the home.
Police have not released a possible motive for the murder.
