Despite ten Oscar nominations, several theaters across the country will not be showing Roma. Regal Cinemas and AMC Theaters have both said they will not put the Netflix movie on their big screens, mainly because it has been on the streaming service since its release. Most studios have adopted a policy where a film will become available on a streaming service or on-demand 90-days after it is in theaters. However, Roma was made available less than a month after it premiered. The Academy only requires films to be in a Los Angeles County commercial theater for seven-days in order to be nominated and Roma met that requirement.
