For the third time in two nights, a pedestrian has been killed on a San Antonio road, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say the victim’s pickup apparently broke down on the westbound lane of I-10 right in front of The Rim shopping center on the far northwest side.
The driver apparently was walking down the highway trying to get help when he was hit by an oncoming motorcycle.
The victim was knocked into the main lane of I-10 where he was run over by several more vehicles, including an 18-wheeler.
The man was pronounced dead on the scene.
The motorcyclist was also injured and was rushed to University Hospital in serious condition.
Traffic investigators are still investigating, including positively connecting the dead man to the abandoned pickup.
The highway had to be closed for several hours while the investigation was underway.
