Legendary Broadway star Carol Channing has passed way. Her publicist confirmed the news in a statement, saying she died early this morning at her home in Rancho Mirage, California. She was 97 years old. Channing is best known for starring in Hello, Dolly!, which earned her a Tony Award in 1964. She was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Thoroughly Modern Millie. Channing was later inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and received a Lifetime Achievement Tony Award.
