The price of gasoline may have bottomed out in San Antonio and begun to rise again, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
The average price of gas in San Antonio today is $1.89, that's up from $1.86 last week.
Daniel Armbruster with AAA Texas says this comes despite demand for gasoline hits its lowest level in two years
."You have to remember that OPEC recently announced that it is tightening global supply," he said. "That is bound to affect gas prices here in Texas."
He says Texas continues to have among the lowest gas prices in the country, with a statewide average price today of $1.92, compared to a nationwide average of $2.23 nationwide.
Both the statewide and nationwide prices continue to fall sharply, which indicates that San Antonio's price is the lowest the price will get.
Gas prices generally hit bottom in mid to late January, due to a lack of driving, and then they begin to pick up as spring break approaches.
