A teenager who probably should not consider a life of crime as a viable career path is in custody this morning following an epic failure of a robbery attempted overnight, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say the suspect went to the smoke Choice Shop in the 5100 block of West Avenue, and attempted to steal a glass 'water bong' that is used for smoking.
The clerk attempted to stop him by jumping over the counter, but he fell and broke the 'bong.'
At that point, police say the teenager grabbed shards of glass from the broken item and began stabbing the clerk with the glass.
A manager ran in and rescued the clerk, holding the teen for police.The clerk is hospitalized in stable condition. The teenager was arrested at the scene.
