A man died early Sunday when his pickup was hit by a speeding car that ignored a red light at Foster Rd. and FM 78, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say a Dodge Charger was speeding down Foster Rd. with the driver and two passengers, 18 and 19 year old men.. When they approached the intersection with FM 78, police say the driver intentionally turned off his headlights in an attempt to slip through the intersection.
The pickup was turning onto FM 78 at the time and was hit broadsided by the speeding Charger.. Both vehicles rolled into a ditch.
The three men in the Charger are hospitalized with non life threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup was pronounced dead after paramedics had to cut him out of the mangled wreckage.
Police are still investigating the incident.
