Freezing Rain Possible in Hill Country

January 1 Weather Alert

The National Weather Service says weather models are indicating a chance of rain developing late Tuesday night through Wednesday night across South Central Texas, at the same time surface temperatures across the Hill Country reach freezing.

This could result in light freezing rain across portions of the Hill Country late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning and possibly again Wednesday night. Expected ice accumulations range from a light glaze of 1/10 of an inch or less.

These amounts are mainly to occur on elevated and exposed metal surfaces.
