Seguin Police Arrest Armed Man Who Said He Was 'Fulfilling Prophecy'

Seguin Police said today they arrested a heavily armed man who said he was on his way to a local church to fulfill a prophecy, officials tell News Radio 1200 WOAI.

Police say officers were called to the 2400 block of Kingsbury after they were informed by a citizen of a man who appeared to be carrying a weapon.

An off duty officer who was the first on the scene says Tony Albert,  33,  was wearing tactical style clothing, a surgical face shield, and was carrying a firearm with extra ammunition.

Albert allegedly told the officer he was on his way to a church 'to fulfill a prophecy.'  Detectives didn't say what church Albert was heading to.

Albert is charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of marijuana.  The investigation is continuing.

Police said without the notification by the alert citizen, this situation might have ended 'very differently.'
