Despite the chaos which has embroiled Wall Street, a new report shows, at least in Texas, Main Street is doing just fine, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
The metro San Antonio unemployment rate held steady at 3.1% in November, according to figures released by Workforce Solutions Alamo.
That is lower than seasonally-adjusted unemployment rates for both the state and the nation.
3.1% is well below the level economists consider to be 'full employment,' which is the point where a lack of qualified workers starts affecting the operational and expansion plans of employers.
The unemployment rate across the entire 13 county area covered by Workforce Solutions Alamo is also 3.1%.. The lowest unemployment in the region is an amazing 1.7% in McMullen County, in the heart of the booming Eagle Ford shale field, while the highest is 3.5% in Atascosa County.
