'Tis the Season, Police Bust Alleged Porch Pirates

Thievery of packages left on the front door of homes is a big problem this time of year, and today San Antonio Police arrested two alleged 'porch pirates,' News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police say one of the pair was a seasonal employee of United Parcel Service.  The other, police think, is his girlfriend.

The pair allegedly conspired to steal an electric guitar from the front porch of a home on the city's northwest side.

Police say with on line shopping becoming more common, if you are expecting a package to be delivered, its best to ask a neighbor to take it, or see if it can be delivered to your workplace, or arrange to pick it up at the delivery service office.

In a warning to would be thieves, police say surveillance video provided by the homeowner helped crack the case.

The two are charged with misdemeanor theft.
