The middle of Highway 281 is a really lousy place to run out of gas, as a woman learned the hard way overnight, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say a woman ran out of gas just south of the Brook Hollow exit late Wednesday night, her car rolling to a stop on the pavement.
A man came by and helped her put gas into her car, when another driver came up at a high rate of speed and smashed into both of them.
The woman and the Good Samaritan were rushed to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
The car that hit them then rolled over several times, landing on its top.
The driver is being tested for possible DWI.
