Stanley Cup Coming to San Antonio

The Stanley Cup is coming to San Antonio.

News Radio 1200 WOAI says the legendary trophy which recognizes the National Hockey League champions will be on display at the San Antonio Rampage game against the Texas Stars at the AT&T Center on December 22.

The Stanley Cup is the oldest trophy to be awarded to the champions of any sports league.  It was presented by English nobleman Lord Stanley to be given to the championship hockey club of the Dominion of Canada in 1892.  It was turned over to the 'National Hockey Association' in 1910, and since 1926, it has been awarded exclusively to the NHL champions.

The Rampage says fans will be able to take selfies with the Stanley Cup, with fans who purchase a Fast Pass given first crack at the venerable trophy.

The Stanley Cup will be located on the concourse at Section 115-116 of the AT&T Center.

All Rampage games are heard live on Sports Radio 760 the Ticket.
