Gas prices have been all the discussion for the last few months in the United States, rising as a culmination partly from the Iran war, but mostly due to price gouging and greed. Sure, the Strait of Hormuz closure made things tough, bringing oil over $100 a barrel at some points. But things have since come back down to earth.

In fact, gas prices after reaching their highs have been falling after reaching a peace deal with Iran. They actually dropped for the sixth straight week recently, down 14% from the May peak. Yet, you would not know that looking at the mainstream media. They incessantly continue pouting, complaining, and insisting that none of this is real. It has become the definition of living in a deluded bubble.

Joseph Vazquez of the Media Research Center (MRC) says the mainstream media fearmongering was a big contributor to the price hikes in the first place.

"A lot of it had to do with myopic commodity traders obsessively trading off of scary headlines the media were putting out there," he says.

The media started hitting gas prices one day into the war and have not stopped since. At one point, CNN even had a gas price and oil price tracker on their screen all day. Conveniently, they removed that once the prices began falling. Because heaven forbid something be good and not fit their narrative.

In part, that has become the biggest issue with the media, especially when President Trump is in the White House. They can give no credit where it is due, no positives are reported. We were fed every day during the Biden administration wonderful puff pieces, exclaiming how sharp and mentally together the President was, when everyone could see the opposite.

Now, in their latest bit of gaslighting after saying for weeks the prices hikes were detrimental, are now saying the decline is also bad.

"A Forbes breaking news reporter had a stupid take recently...that the falling gas prices are actually inflationary, and it could be bad if the Strait of Hormuz is reopened," says Vazquez. "This is what the media does, they do not give Trump an inch, because they want his economy viewed as some taboo topic when it comes to the voters."

It is all about midterms and pushing narratives. That is all the mainstream media has become anymore, narratives and pushing politics. In typical fashion too, they will always bash Trump. If he cured cancer tomorrow, they would say he colluded with Russia or a judge would block it.

"If prices go to the moon because the Strait is closed, that is bad Trump...if prices fall like a rock, that is bad Trump...it is ridiculous, they are treating the American people like they are stupid," Vazquez says.

As usual, it is a lose-lose for Trump, not due to any fault of his own, but because the media will never give him any kind of win. Even when the victory is clear and happening before everyone's own eyes.
