Murder Suspect Fleeing Police Smashes Into Family Car

A man police say is a suspect in a murder investigation smashed his SUV into a family car while being pursued by officers on the citys southeast side early Friday, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Special Crimes Unit investigators had been staking out a home near Loop 410 and Pleasanton Rd. when they spotted the suspect driving a red SUV.

When officers attempted to move in, the man saw them and sped away.

With both SAPD and Sheriffs officers in pursuit, the suspect would through south side streets, until at Southcross and Pecan Valley he crashed into a car containing two adults and two children.

The children were in car seats and were not hurt.  The adults were rushed to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Police charged the driver with multiple offenses, and are continuing the murder investigation.
