San Antonio Gas Prices Continue Their Holiday Swoon

San Antonio motorists are getting a big time holiday present at the pump...lower gas prices.

News Radio 1200 WOAI reports the average price of a gallon in San Antonio today is $2.25, according to AAA Texas.  That's down 5 cents a gallon just in the past week...and down more than 30 cents from what we were paying less than two months ago.

“The 3.8 million Texans who are driving to their Thanksgiving destination will find pump prices similar to last year,” said Daniel Armbruster, AAA Texas/AAA New Mexico spokesperson. “When it comes time to fill-up during the trip, motorists should keep in mind that gas stations along highly traveled routes may find prices more expensive than in-town. gas prices."

In San Antonio, it is less and less difficult to buy gas for less than $2 a gallon, with some stations listed at $1.93, according to Gasbuddy.com.

The lower gas prices are the result of adequate supplies on hand, despite U.S. sanctions against Iran which were imposed later this month, the result of robust Texas oil production.
