Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz is thanking Texans for helping him overcome an assault from Hollywood and the national media to send him back to Washington, DC. Cruz defeated Democratic candidate Beto O'Rourke in the most expensive Senate campaign in U.S. history. Cruz reached out to O'Rourke's supporters and promised he would be their senator too. He also credited O'Rourke for his tireless campaigning.
