West Virginia played for the win and stunned Texas 42-41 in Austin. Will Grier's touchdown pass with 16-seconds left capped a 75-yard drive to pull the Mountaineers within one. Grier then ran in the ensuing two-point conversion to put WVU ahead. The senior quarterback finished with 346 yards and three touchdowns as West Virginia improved to 7-and-1, including 5-and-1 in Big 12 play. Longhorns signal caller Sam Ehlinger threw for 354 yards and three scores, including the go-ahead TD with 2:34 left in the game. Texas fell to 6-and-3 overall and 4-and-2 in conference.
