Ten days of sausage, beer, music and dancing started New Braunfels on Friday.
The German-inspired celebration is a part of the city's 58th annual Wurstfest. The festival started in 1961 as a festival to honor sausage. Now, the German staple welcomes thousands every year to indulge in the meaty treat.
"It's a very pretty setting. We've added about 100 more tables, we have about 800 more seats for more people to enjoy and additions of our favorite stuff which is food, music and beer and good German fun,” Stephen Hanz, Wursfest volunteer, said.
Admission is free Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Other weeknights include an admission price of $15.
