Two people were hurt during an explosion at a house the 2300 block of Bendridge Trail in Austin on Saturday.
Authorities said the home was destroyed and crews had to work to extinguish the fire and protect the homes on both sides of the explosion site. Firefighters also worked to mitigate a gas line fire that was caused as a result of the explosion.
A man in his 50s and a woman in her 40s were transported to Dell Seton Medical Center with critical burn injuries.
The initial cause of the explosion is currently under investigation, but officials with the Austin Fire Department said it was possibly due to a natural gas leak.
