Suspect Arrested in Pegasus Shooting

Police this afternoon arrested a 44 year old El Paso resident in connection with the shooting of three people on North Main Street, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police said Jose Rincon Hernandez was angry at being ejected from Pegasus, a prominent nightclub not far from the city's Rainbow Crosswalk.

He shot two men and a woman at a taco truck in the parking lot.

Police say Hernandez surrendered voluntarily and will face three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Police stressed that the incident had nothing to do with the sexual orientation of many people who frequent the clubs in the area, and was not a 'hate crime.'
