Driver Cut Out of Mangled Car After Collision With Tree

It took firefighters and paramedics thirty minutes to cut a critically injured driver out of the mangled wreckage of his car on the city's northwest side this morning, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police say the man in his twenties was driving too fast down North Hollow St, which is near Huebner and Eckhert, about 2:30AM when he lost control, jumped the curb, and slammed into a tree.

Crews had to slice the roof of the car to reach the victim, who suffered from multiple injuries and is hospitalized at University Hospital in life threatening condition.
