An explosion and fire this morning on the grounds of the Toyota Motor Company of Texas facility on the city's south side, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Joe Arrington of the San Antonio Fire Department says a piece of equipment on the roof of an on site supplier that filters paint fumes malfunctioned.
"When we arrived on the scene, we found an external scrubber system that is used to strip paint fumes," he said. "A very minor explosion had occurred in there."
He says Toyota has its own fire department, which trains with the SAFD, and they, and the city firefighters put the fire out.
"Just over 200 folks working inside, no injuries, they got the fire knocked out before we got there."
