Martin Maldonado's RBI-single in the eighth inning proved to be the difference as the Astros edged the Diamondbacks 5-4 in Houston. Josh Reddick homered for the 'Stros, who took two-of-three in the series. Justin Verlander struck out 11 over seven innings of one-run ball as he improved to 16-and-9. Roberto Osuna closed it out for his 18th save. David Peralta went deep in the sixth and Daniel Descalso drilled a two-run homer in the ninth for the D'backs, who finished just 2-and-5 on their road trip. Zack Greinke gave up four runs to take the loss.
