Its straight to the top this morning, in one of the largest September 11th commemorations in the country, the annual San Antonio 110 9/11 Memorial Climb, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Some 700 first responders from 100 public safety agencies around the country are gathering to honor the firefighters who died 17 years ago today, by climbing up the steps of the Tower of the Americas twice, to match the height of the World Trade Center.
Many of the participants will be carrying photographs and other items which belonged to the 343 firefighters who were killed that day.
Donations have will go to charitable beneficiaries, including the Warrior Fitness Foundation and Rise Above Hardship, who organizations who assist First Responders and Veterans who are suffering from traumatic injuries and PTSD.
