The Astros erased an early four-run deficit with two big innings to surge past the A's 11-4 in Houston. The Astros went ahead with a five-run third. Alex Bregman and Tyler White padded the lead with three-run homers in the eighth for Houston. Gerrit Cole worked six innings for his 12th win. The Astros now lead the A's by two-and-a-half games in the AL West. Brett Anderson got chased in the third and took the loss for Oakland. Marcus Semien and Matt Chapman homered in defeat. The A's three-game winning streak came to an end.
