Slight Uptick for San Antonio Gas Prices

San Antonio gas prices have jumped a penny a gallon in the past week, but analysts say its just a blip on the way to lower prices in the months ahead, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

AAA Texas says the average price of gas in San Antonio today is $2.51, that's up a penny in the past week, but down 12 cents from the peak prices we saw in early July.

“Consumer demand for gasoline is falling off as summer comes to a close and prices are dropping with the lower demand," AAA Texas spokesman Daniel Armbruster said.

Generally gas prices begin to slide as we approach back to school and Labor Day, and fall through the Christmas holidays until they begin to rise again in early February.

The statewide average price today is $2.61, and the nationwide average is $2.83, both down over the past several weeks.
