Medina County Deputy Shoots Suspect

A Medina County sheriff's deputy shot and wounded a fleeing suspect following a confrontation while the deputy was attempted to serve a warrant, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

The suspect was airlifted to University Hospital where he is expected to survive.

Officials say the man first tried to drive away from the deputy, but crashed his car, and then tried to flee on foot.

The deputy was not hurt.

The Texas Rangers will investigate, which is standard procedure.
