Fires Damage Two Businesses, One Home Overnight

Three fires damaged two businesses and a home in separate incidents overnight, fire officials tell News Radio 1200 WOAI.

The first fire damaged an auto repair shop in the 500 block of Frio City Road on the city's southwest side.  That fire is believed to have started in an electrical box and spread to the building.

Firefighters from Castle Hills, Hollywood Park, Leon Valley, and Balcones Heights were called out to the corner of Northwest Military Highway and Winston Lane, to battle a fire in a Mexican restaurant.

The first arriving company called for backup after flames were seen shooting out of the roof and windows.  There is no word yet on the cause of that fire, but damage was extensive.

Firefighters then were called the 4100 block of Cliff Oaks, which is in Oak Hills off Fredericksburg Rd, on a report of a house fire.

Crews say a man banged on the door of the home to notify the homeowner that his house was on fire.

That fire is blamed on the homeowner burning leaves in the back yard.  Damage to the home was extensive.Nobody was hurt in any of the fires.
