Justin Verlander picked up his 200th career win as the Astros cruised past the Athletics 9-4 in Oakland. Verlander worked into the sixth and gave up four runs to earn the victory. Even Gattis hit the go-ahead solo-homer in the fourth. Martin Maldonado, Alex Bregman, and Marwin Gonzalez added solo-shots and Yuli Gurriel hit a three-run bomb for Houston. The 'Stros lead the A's by one game atop the AL West. Sean Manaea surrendered six runs across four frames to take the loss for Oakland. Khris Davis homered twice and Matt Chapman went deep once in defeat.
