36 Year Old Man Brutally Stabbed on South Side Street

A 36 year old man is in critical condition after he was stabbed in the chest after he declined to purchase a stolen purse from a shadowy figure who approached him on a south side street at 2AM today, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police say the victim had just parked his car in the 500 block of Glamis, which is off Goliad Rd., when a man emerged from the darkness and asked him if he wanted to buy a purse.

When he declined and tried to walk away, the stranger pulled a knife and stabbed him in the chest, and then ran away.

The victim called 9-1-1 and was rushed to SAMMC in critical condition.

Police don't think the victim and the suspect knew each other.
