Road Rage Leads to Robbery, Beating, and a Three Hour Standoff

A road rage incident turned into a robbery and then an hours-long standoff on San Antonio's southwest side overnight, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police say it started when a group of men in a vehicle imagined that another motorist had cut them off on Castroville Road near General McMullen.

The men pursued the other guy until he stopped and parked in the 1300 block of Castroville.

Police say they then emerged and started beating and kicking the man, and then robbed him.

The suspects then ran into a nearby business, and when police noticed that one of the men inside was armed, they surrounded the building and decided to wait them out.

The standoff continued for about three hours, before the men surrendered about 1:30AM.

A total of six people inside the business were arrested, and all will face various charges.

The victim of the beating is hospitalized.
