Police: Man Smashing His Car into Girlfriend's SUV Causes Deadly Wreck

Police say a deady car wreck early today was caused by an argument between a man and a woman, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police say the couple had argued in an apartment in the Medical Center area, and the woman left the apartment and took off in her SUV.

The man jumped into his car and police say he started intentionally ramming her as she tried to drive down Huebner Rd. west of I-10.

After the man rammed into the woman's SUV, she lost control of her vehicle and crossed the center line, where her vehicle was T-boned by an oncoming car.

That car flipped over near Huebner and Ekhert.

A woman inside the SUV was rushed to University Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.  No word on whether the woman who died was the woman who was trying to get away from the man.

Several people who were in the car that hit the SUV and flipped over had to be cut out of the wrecked vehicle and were taken to the hospital in critical  condition.

The man who woman had been arguing with sped away, but homicide detectives are investigating and the man could face a vehicular homicide charge.
