The British Open has a new champion. Francesco Molinari has become Italy's first major champion after firing a two-under-par 69 Sunday at the golf tournament in Scotland. The 35-year-old underlined his status as the best by finishing the four-day competition with an eight-under total of 276. He beat Justin Rose, Rory McIlroy and Kevin Kisner by two strokes. Tiger Woods appeared ready to end his 10-year victory drought before hitting a double bogey on the 11th hole and a bogey on the 12th.
