A teenager who thought he was going to meet 'a girl named Linda he had met on Instagram' instead found himself the target of gunmen on the city's south side early today, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
When the teen arrived in the 3100 block of Chamita, which is off Poteet-Jourdanton Freeway, 'Linda' was nowhere to be found.
But two men were hiding behind a parked car, and when the teen got out of the car to look for 'Linda' they emerged and started shooting at him.
He jumped back into the car and tried to get away, but ended up crashing his car into two other vehicles.
He then started running through back yards, afraid the two men were chasing him.He was finally found by police who were answering a call for shots fired. They first came upon the crashed car, and then found the victim.
He was rushed to the hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
Police have a description of the assailants, but have made no arrests.
Not surprisingly, there was no 'Linda.'
