The Tigers launched four home runs to power past the Astros 6-3 in Houston. John Hicks started things with a two-run shot and Niko Goodrum, Jim Adduci and Jeimer Candelario hit solo-homers. Drew VerHagen tossed three innings of one-run ball in relief of injured starter Francisco Liriano to earn the win. Detroit enters the All-Star break at 41-and-57, 12-and-a-half games out of first in the AL Central. Justin Verlander gave up all four long-balls across six innings of work to take the loss. Houston has a five-game lead atop the AL West at 64-and-35 heading into the break.
