A would-be Good Samaritan was killed early today when police say he tried to break up a fight between a man and a woman at a west side home, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
The fight took place inside the house in the 900 block of San Fernando, which is just north of Guadalupe Street.
When police arrived, they found the man sprawled in the driveway, bleeding from several gunshot wounds.
Detectives were told that the man started beating up the woman, and the victim tried to intervene to stop him from hurting her.
The man then pulled a gun and shot the Good Samaritan several times as they were driving away from the home.
The man and the woman and a third person sped away. The victim was pronounced dead at SAMMC.
Police don't know what the relationship is between the man and the woman and the victim.
