Detectives Skeptical That South Side Shooting was 'Accidental'

Detectives are skeptical of the claims of two teenagers that a shooting in a south side home overnight was an 'accident,' News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police were called to the 400 block of Chalmers St, which is near S. Flores and Division, on a report of a shooting.

When they arrived, they found a 13 year old boy with a gunshot wound to the leg.

They were told that two other boys who were in the house at the time had run off, one left on foot and the other on a bicycle.

Both of the teens were captured within a few minutes, and they claimed that the shooting was 'accidental.'

The victim is being treated at University Hospital for non1life threatening wounds.
