The busiest people in town last night were operators at the San Antonio Fireworks Hotline, as 725 people called to snitch on their neighbors, who were setting off fireworks in violation of city law, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
But generally, the San Antonio Fire Department reports it was a quiet Fourth of July, with no injuries, burns, or fires of any sort caused by fireworks.
But the storm that rolled through the city early last evening did get things hopping.
The SAFD reports one house fire caused by a lightning strike, and swift water rescue teams had to rescue people who were on board a boat that capsized on Calaveras Lake during the storm.
But there were no high water rescues or technical water rescues required.
