For the 34th year, ceremonies were held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on the Fourth of July.
In commemoration of San Antonio's Tricentennial, this year's memorial highlighted the bond between Texas and Spain and the role they played in the American Revolution.
Costumes, drums and a roll call of the 13 colonies along with musket fire play a part in the program. Along with prayers, reenactments and the National Anthem.
