Hundreds Gather for 'Families Belong Together' Rally at Main Plaza

Hundeds of people, from liberal activists to church groups to immigrant rights organizations, gathered on Main Plaza in front of San Fernando Cathedral this morning for San Antonio's version of the nationwide 'Families Belong Together rally to protest the Trump Administration's 'Zero Tolerance' policy toward illegal immigration, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Many people carried signs demanding families not be divided at the border.  Others came to present a blatantly anti-Trump message, wearing T-shirts reading 'IMPEACH.'

The group heard from several Democrat office holders, as well as immigrant rights groups.

There were also locations where people could drop off items for children who are housed in HHS shelters in Tornillo and elsewhere.

Similar rallies are underway across the country today, and organizers promised more as they try to keep the heat on the Trump Administration over immigration.
