A Bexar County Deputy is on desk duty after he allegedly shot a woman during a disturbance early today in Medina County, officials tell News Radio 1200 WOAI.
It happened at Highway 90 and Mechtler Road, where the deputy, who is identified as a jail detention officer who was off duty at the time, pulled over to help a woman whose car had stalled.
Officials say the deputy told them the woman became belligerent and attacked him, and he shot her in self defense.
The woman was airlifted to University Hospital in serious condition.
The deputy is off duty while Internal Affairs investigates.
