Man Shot to Death on West Side--But Nobody Called Police

A man was shot to death on the city's west side this morning, but police say nobody bothered to call them to report the crime, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

The body was found by the manager of a convenience store at Chihuahua and Hamilton.

"We had no calls, all we know right now is that a man is deceased from a single gunshot wound," Chief William McManus said.

He didn't speculate on why nobody called in the shooting to police.  "I don't know why...maybe nobody heard it, nobody was paying attention, or maybe they just didn't call."

McManus says there has been drug activity in the area, but it's not know whether that contributed to the killing.

Detectives don't have many clues, and the dead man's identity is not known.
