"El Chapo" Asks Judge To Toss Statements Made During DEA Extradition

El Chapo

Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman is asking a federal judge to toss the claims he made during his extradition flight to America.  A court filing yesterday says it was not clear if the drug lord had been informed of his rights by the DEA agents in charge of bringing him to New York.  His attorney claims he felt he had no other choice other than to answer the questions asked.  El Chapo brought back on January 19th of last year for a long list of offenses including continuing criminal enterprise, drug trafficking conspiracy and distributing cocaine.  Judge Brian Cogan, who is overseeing the case, did not immediately hand down a ruling on the request.  His trial is set for September and he faces life in prison if he is convicted.
