Scalise Back On Baseball Field On Anniversary Of Shooting

Scalise

Steve Scalise is back on the baseball  field, one year after he was seriously wounded when a gunman opened fire  on a GOP congressional baseball practice in Virginia.  The Louisiana  Republican received a standing ovation when he took the field tonight at  Nationals Park to play second base in the annual Congressional Charity  Baseball Game.  Scalise was one of four people wounded in the attack at a field near the nation's capital.  The House Majority Whip spent weeks  in the hospital and the others who were hit also survived.  Capitol  Police officers shot and killed the gunman James Hodgkinson, ending the  shooting rampage.
