Man in His Late Fifties Shot When he Couldn't Pay for Ride

Police don't have much to go on after a man was shot twice as he stood in front of his northwest side home about 2 AM Monday, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police say a man in his late fifties was standing in front of a home in the 800 block of John Adams, which is in the Jefferson High School neighborhood, when a car drove by and somebody inside opened fire for no apparent reason.

Police say the man had asked for a ride to his home, but when he was dropped off at the house he told the driver he didn't have the money to pay him.

The suspect remains at large.
