A man was killed in a fiery accident on the city's southeast side early Friday, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say a driver was going too fast down Southcross Rd. near Gevers when he lost control of his pickup. It jumped the curb and smashed into a business sign.
Passersby managed to pull the man out of the mangled wreckage just before the truck exploded in flames.
EMS was unable to revive the man and he died at the scene.
