'Best Crop Ever' of Fredericksburg Peaches Go on Sale This Weekend

You might say conditions this past winter were 'peachy,' and this will be a good year for Fredericksburg peach growers, and for people everywhere who enjoy the tasty fruit, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Jamey Vogel with Vogel Orchards says peaches go on sale in Fredericksburg this weekend, and will also be popping up at the famous roadside peach stands all over the region.

"I heard somebody the other day call it 'the best crop in many years'," he said.  "This is a very good crop."

He says the success of Fredericksburg peaches is due entirely to the weather, and this past winter we saw just enough cold weather and just enough warm days to produce a sweet, juicy crop of peaches.

"Everybody is very anxious to have some," he said.  "We have had plenty of people on social media and calling, asking about the crop and ready to come get some."

He says now's your chance.
